Markings on the inside of the stainless steel bowl indicate suitable bean levels for 4, 8, 10 or 12 cups of brewed coffee, and the clear top cover slides on for one-touch operation.

1. I ordered this along with an expresso machine. Both items came today. No where in this product's item description does it list it shouldn't be purchased to grind beans for expresso machines. However, when I read this grinder's instructions it states on page 8: "KitchenAid does not recommend using this grinder to grind beans for pump espresso-type machines."
   Apparently it is only supposed to be used for automatic drip and French press (which uses a coarse grind). Likely because also on page 8, it also states..."Longer grinding times result in finer grinds but can overheat the coffee grinds and valuable coffee flavors can be lost."
   
   The product description should clearly state it is recommended for automatic drip and French press coffee machines only! *
2. This is a great coffee grinder. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of grinders I have purchased in the past but I have found I don't need any of the extra features. The best thing about this grinder is the interior is metal and the coffee does not create static when you are grinding it. No mess of coffee flying all over my kitchen. For this reason alone I would never buy another type of grinder. It also comes apart for easy clean-up. Overall it is a great product at a great price. *****
